but sad as well - the raging against the light - the lifelong itch and scratch of desire and love - hte last two lines are the among the most terrifying and bleak I have ever read.
yes but at least he didn't hide from any of it... compare and contrast. seemingly with little scarring.
but he did in the end didn't he, lving with the woman who doesn't really love him and where he only knows the other men as a collection of golf swings.
Not sure I get the scarring bit - isn't his recounting of his story another form of scarring? And scratching?
