Spring time..

... so the wind blows your new hair do into a bird's nest and the normally quiet walk from Southwark Bridge to Blackfriars Bridge passing Tate Modern becomes an elbows and a tripping expedition. Clearly all the tourists and school parties are now once more returning to their nesting grounds... the 'sights' of London - a rich source of vitamins and nutrients on their annual migration across the globe.. Ah yes the Globe Theatre was rather popular too. Another obvious give away is the rapidly approaching London Marathon and the number of fast scurrying runners which litter the route of the Thames like ants on a mission to get to their destination.

I think I begrudge them using my pavement space whilst feeling inwardly grateful that I can take photos of these sights pretty much whenever I choose and savour the view without getting sweaty whilst I tread upon the self same route.

Happy Birthday

Yes 25th March 2001 the Gills became an eternal part of me.. so Happy 5th Birthday Tattoo!

BST

I don't recall it ever hurting so much - but the loss of an hour meant the Archers started too early and a day into it my body clock is still loopy. Maybe the 5am start was a taster.... Weird to be light after 6pm again. There is hope again!

So British Summer Time blew in with rain and gales. My hair went a rather fetching 80's curl! The office was practically empty - either people using up leave or cut down by sickness. Anyway makes the day very uninspiring. Roll on Tuesday...

BST

EEEEKKKK - THIS SITE HAS NOT AUTO GONE FORWARD AN HOUR.... typical...

Gillingham 1 - Swansea 0 - the double!

Oh yes we can smile now!!

This was Pops pre the 6-0 defeat @ Bristol City. Please note no backs to the seats. How modern it makes the Priestfield seem! So after losing by a huge amount the week ahead of two games seemed to be destined to herald no points... OH HOW WRONG!!!

Beat Brentford Tuesday night and then Saturday played better than for a long while and got a deserved win.

Sorry JohnTec. Poor sod got wet and cold at the away end and watched on as he saw his team crumble. He missed the penalty though..tsk! Afterwards it was only proper that I tokk him to see the sights of Gillingham. Pub on the High Street. Exeprience it was. To be repeated probably not. Whether it makes me a snob or not I am not sure but screaming kids, loud music and general anarchy was not my idea of showing a mate the sights. Oh well. We escaped unscathed and returned to London. I had been up since 5am so crawled home and had tea and went to bed...

On a high..

posted a message on the rivals MB for the first time since the day before we met our fate at Forest.. one swallow does not a summer make - but a 5 goal thriller is way better than a 6 goal thrashing.

good night.

Gillingham 3 - Brentford 2

Need I say more?????

Ok ok ok - I can't resist.

Down to 9 men
(second sending off was a stupid immature action and fraid to say fully deserved)

2 - 1 up at half time
(anyone would think we had won then)

and then 3 -1 up for a whole 4 minutes!

It was a reminder why oh why oh why I go and freeze my nether regions off... a win.

Lots of very quiet Bee's fans on the train home and for us hardy Gills' fans some sense of hope...

COME ON YOU GILLS!!!

I have much more I would love to say on the matter but for now bed beckons and I look forward with some optimism to Saturday and Swansea at home. Oh and to the very chatty ticket man @ Cannon Street this evening - thank you for your best wishes and assurance that we would win - I know you thought I was mad to be a female even going to football, let alone willing to admit it- but you took it on board and wished me luck - so cheers!

WE WON!!!

La la la la!!

Raining Cats and Dogs

I have made my brother famous!

Stuart and Codie as seen on the London Unground Website!

I did get to the cinema over the weekend - on the Sunday, after deciding that Saturday inertia was preferable to mixing with the shopping public. I did go to Dick and Bruce's music night on Sat pm - mainly out of curiosity and mainly cos I was asked too. The only problem with the scenario is having Mr G there too. I guess I need to solve that little concern sooner rather than later... anyway I went to see Brokeback Mountain... good film not sure warranted Oscar hype. The scenery of Wyoming and the mountain flocked by sheep was fairly inspiring... but not as inspiring as Planet Earth - new prog on the Beeb on Sunday evenings. For an hour I watched with my mouth agog in awe of the colours, the changing seasons and the animals. It's a great planet. We should endeavour to take better care of it.

Speaking of which I need to sort my trip out to the other side of it... ttfn.

Gills v Brentford postponed

Which means I have a rare Saturday to do as I please. At least it was called off at 10am and not 1.30pm when usually I have just got on the train and have to go part way. Goes to show how cold it is. Frozen pitch at the Rainham End. It also means that I won't freeze me bits off and I won't be disappointed when I have watched us lose! Hooray! Not so good in terms of suspensions which will now still be true for when I go to Bristol City weekend after next. Oh well - at least it gives some of our injuries chance to recover.

And so the choices? Currently listening to the football, having spent morning hoovering etc while listening to the cricket - ah the feeling of heat and lazy summer days was coming across a treat from India. And the score isn't looking too bad either! So do I ... go shopping? Nah don't want to spend any cash. Go to cinema? Highly likely - the TV later is rather poor, (what is it with all these singing/skating competitions face it guys most of you are talentless fops!) so an early evening trip to see Brokeback Mountain is looking favoured - means I get my steps in for the day. Stay in and potter? Feels naughty not making the most of the brillant sunshine.

Will soon find out...!!!
