Strike - update
Awoke remarkable at 6.30am (oh yeah bursting bladder). And this morning bluffed by news of a good service on the Northern Line I got as far as the platform and with every passing second and no time indications for trains I realised I was slowly being crowded off the park. Darn it - I was not dressed for speed walking but nevertheless got the south bound to Sarf Wimbledon and then walked to Wimbledon for an overland express... and yup more walking. My hair has now spent 2 days in ultra frizz mode. My new trainers are truly broken in and this evening the plan is to walk home.
Last night what was the point in rushing. Came out of a meeting at 6pm and the office was like a morgue. The rush to get home was on. But why? Just clogs everything up. Instead the pub had 2 people in it.. and then a lovely quiet(ish) pizza ... The plan had been to get the Thameslink (boo) but the station was shut for engineering works - so a quick root march back to Waterloo for a train and then a bus home... better than expected. And the ability to sleep much better than I have for a while.
People bag the tubes when they are running - but by god do they learn to appreciate them when they aren't running... I support people's right to strike - we fail to do enough of it in this country anymore.. and look where a lack of passion has got us... so you strike. Wakes people up to what they take for granted and how inherently lazy we all become... okay. Rant over.
Roll on 5.30 and pavement power walk.. get out of the way novices!!

Defo
more cycling and way ward pedestrians out today... and yet people STILL insist on wearing the wrong types of clothing!! Heels!? Der!! So left the house at 7.45 got to work at 9am.. could be the way forward in future.. exercise and Radio 5 all the way!
Very disappointed no-one yelled for us to move down the train .. very odd!!
On another note I had a text from Dx about the delivery of AC/DC tickets - due today - so I logged on and requested they come Sat 20th - a pleasant lady rang me to re-arrange for this Saturday. And then guess what - they came this morning at 7.20am and I didn't get asked for any proof of identity.. crazy crazy processes totally not in line with reality! Sound familiar.
Anyways today begins in earnest shortly.... 7 mins to be precise. And my hair has a certain amount of frizz about it - nice!!

Tube Strike...
Great! I love a good tube strike - puts the fear of u no what up most people. They may have to use their legs or some other form of lesser transport. Me? Well plans to walk home and/or make the most of overland services is my choice. Just means I won't do as much reading as usual cos I get distracted by the outside world flashing by.
In other news... no swimming yesterday so, cold feels better today. Am resolved to ask one question to a certain someone to clear my thoughts. Builder is going to fit new kitchen next week. AC/DC tickets due for signing on Saturday and my Placebo Box Set needs picking up from Post Office...was supposed to be out for a drink with a chap fromwork who has a secret crush on me and also had an invite to a Samba night. Hey ho the walk and train and walk did me good. Popped into Sainso's to get soya milk - and used the self scan and pay!! I am a great check out girl!! LOL!
Erm otherwise the new Placebo album ROCKS!! Can't stop listening to it!!! I need a change of skin...

Here we are again... the summer party/May Ball. This year it is a muted affair. Namely due to economic restraints and restructured teams... as you can perhaps imagine its a weird evening..celebration or wake. Hard to tell. 
In keeping with other years here is a picture of the dessert.. I did not eat mine. The general faces of disgust around the table led me to conclude that this tart was out of my league.
So I turned my attention to some red wine and a bit of 'disco' dancing..
