who is the old mountebank ripping off now? which artist is being blessed with his "magpie" approach to impression and allusion and inspiration?
I have never recovered from his Sarah Lucas period - not sure she has...
and why are we hearing so much about him on this a ce moment. what is his symbolic role in your unconcious karoona.

I think he is another right man wrong time in my life...
I WANT examples from you too.. MR as to his magpie ways... or else.
he has been "inspired" by Sarah Lucas (see above), Frank Sinatra, Goldie, New Jazz Messengers, the Velvets, Iggy Pop, Marcel Marceau, the list is endless...not an original moment in all those many many years.
i disagree. they were all ARTISTS evolving together ( he met Iggy and Lou and all those kids at the time).. he took the seeds and made them his own - took items to another/the next level.. the only one to come out and say 'Hey I'm gay - listen to my record..'.
As for his paintings - yeah well - he is just on the coat tails of his fame I fear.. so I concede a point...
