Rant 1

Chelsea.
Manchester United.

Or more pointedly Chelsea vs.Manchester United.

So looks the Premiership is a contest between them.
The FA Cup is a contest between them.
The Champions League looking very likely to be a contest between them.

Frankly - what's the point?
Why not just give them their own mini league so they can thrash each other to bits on a fortnightly basis.
Let's call it a North vs South football league and be done with it. Then the rest of the league(s) can get up and have something to aspire too again.

Its called freedom of choice...

Why is bad for football? Why cant you be of the opinion that its good for football that the best 2 teams are competing in all competitions?

Surely the point is why are the rest so mediocre?

By the rest - do you mean the rest of the Premiership?

The best. Mmm. The best financed surely.

The best financed or the ones who had the vision to see how things were in 1990 at the start of the new TV deal?
People have short memories and forget how bad Utd were then they employed a good manager, developed a strong youth team and built a ground to make it work.

Others tried and failed....

Okay so Man Utd have had vision and the extreme fortune in theior manager. But solid youth policies are being eroded by the propensity of the big spenders to buy in as opposed to investing in true development in the local area.

I guess at heart I am failing to grasp the fact that the sport I love (not the Premiership version!) has become essentially a business venture.

I just hope that honours are shared and the newly promoted sides have a fighting chance.

How I long for an exciting FA Cup final... draw & penalties do not really inspire me...
