2011 - the year just gone

I am shamelessly going to recycle these questions and see how 2011 compares to 2010...
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
* Resigned after 11 years.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
* Yes - lost weight. Probably, no definitely - quit smoking.
3. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
* Erm out probably with Mr G in the Tup
4. Did anyone close to you die?
* Thankfully, no. Though seeing Marco's accident felt like it.
5. What countries did you visit?
* China, Malaysia and USA
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
* Self belief and the confidence to survive down under.
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
* October 23rd. Sepang. RIP Marco
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
* Getting a new job and opportunity of a life time in a new country.
9. What was your biggest failure?
* Not quitting smoking.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
* No.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
* Tickets to places far away.
12. Where did most of your money go?
* Ciggies.
13. What song will always remind you of 2011?
* Gossip 'Heavy Cross'
14. What do you wish you'd done more of?
* Laughed. Walked.
15. What do you wish you'd done less of?
* Bitten my tongue
16. What was your favourite TV program?
* Rev
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
* Not particularly.
18. What was the best book you read?
* Bleak House - Charles Dickens.... though I read lots see here.
19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
* Peaches/Gossip
20. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
* Good friends, work colleagues.
21. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
* Generally those who should know better but probably never will.
22. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
* Getting my new job... though at the moment I feel really scared!
23. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.

24. How did you spend Christmas?
* With the folks and Mr G. It went far too quickly.
25. Did you fall in love in 2010?
* No.

* 0.
27. What did you want and get?
* Change.
28. What did you want and not get?
* Peace.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
* The Fighter or Fastest.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
* I stayed indoors and listened to the Archers all day on Radio 7 - then went to Wimbledon and drank with chums. A great way to turn 38.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
* Gillingham not fluffing it at the end of the season and missing the play offs.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
* Comfort ahead of fashion.
33. What kept you sane?
* Holidays. Reading.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
* Nicky Hayden
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
* Economic dowerness
36. Who did you miss?
* My brother.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
* Met some tops people on the China trip.
40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011:
* Being single isn't a reason to feel insignificant. Get out there and shine. Oh and that I have a lot of respect from the people I work with and have worked with - made me feel very humble.
